Santa Ana

Santa Ana, Mexico

In 2017, Mexico was struck by two major earthquakes, followed by Hurricane Agatha in 2022 and Hurricane John in 2025, causing widespread damage to homes and schools. From May to September 2025, All Hands and Hearts carried out a comprehensive rehabilitation effort across four schools—repairing structural damage in classrooms and dormitories, installing rainwater harvesting and water filtration systems, and providing computers to the local telesecundaria school.

With support from Khelo Foundation, a new playground was also constructed in Santa Ana, benefiting 362 students. Play is essential to children’s cognitive, social, and physical development. After the disruption caused by disasters, it becomes even more important by restoring a sense of normalcy while offering stability, resilience, and hope.
